.: Welcome to AutoWorkshop.Info
For years, I have been
planning a dedicated automotive workshop so that I could more easily and
safely enjoy my hobby, whether it be motorsports preparation, restoration,
repair, maintenance, or detailing. I've searched all the available texts out there, and, quite frankly,
I've been disappointed.
The "ultimate automotive workshop" books tell you
how to build a building or discuss at length how to build storage cabinets. Others are about
boutique garages for the wealthy to showcase their collections. I found some of the
best books on setting up a shop to be those aimed at woodworkers.
I'm not interested in improving my carpentry skills, although those
skills are necessary to set up that ideal automotive workshop. And I don't
want to build a showcase garage for hosting cocktail parties around my
personal fleet. I want to build an automotive workshop to do just that - work!
I wanted to find a text that gave me practical advice on shop
set up; floorplan layouts, size considerations, and the logistics that make
everything efficient. Failing to find that perfect "how to" book,
I thought I'd document my quest for my ideal automotive workshop and share
that experience with you.
.: Navigating
The menu selections to the left open to pages that go into more depth.
Each of those pages also has a menu structure that gets more and more
granular. The "Home" button will always bring you back to this page.
The "Site Map" button will give you an overview of the entire site contents.
I hope that you will visit often as you build your ideal automotive workshop!
